Strawberry Ice Cream
This homemade strawberry ice cream is made
with creamy, sweet, and fresh strawberries. This is an old-fashioned strawberry
ice cream recipe that makes it the best dessert of spring or summer. Use sweet
strawberries to make this wonderful homemade strawberry ice cream when they are
in season. It is perfect for summer desserts on its own or with it.
Ice cream gives me all the feeling of
summer, and strawberry ice cream, in particular, reminds me of the summer days
spent in our family cabin in the mountains.
It was as good as it gets (unless you want
to mix some Neapolitan sheet cake or strawberry and a cream cupcake, the cake
is always a good idea). Also, it's totally the radish color of the ice cream
world because it's so beautiful in pink!
This stunning pink homemade strawberry ice
cream is made with an ice cream maker, but it's worth the investment! I have
used this countless times and I love it!
In fact, with my stand-up mixer, my ice
cream maker is my used kitchen tool. Seriously, there's no such thing as
homemade ice cream.
So, let's go
talk about this recipe and just what makes it amazing.

Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream Tips and Tricks:
- Breaking up this simple recipe a bit, the first step is to cut your strawberries into small pieces. For me, I really like the large pieces of strawberries in it, so I cut the berries raw. Depending on your taste preferences, you can customize them to be larger or smaller.
- In a large bowl, mix the strawberries with the sugar, honey, and lemon juice, and let the mixture rest for about 15-20 minutes. The sugar and acid found in lemon juice will soften strawberry juice.
- Once they are set, mash the strawberry mixture with the potato mash, fork, or pastry cutter until no large chunks remain.
- (Doing this by hand will give you good strawberry slices. If you prefer smooth strawberry ice cream, use a blender or food processor to puree them. I prefer real strawberry slices. But it tastes good both ways!)
- Know to add heavy cream, Half and Half, and vanilla extract to the strawberry mixture. Put it in the ice cream maker and follow your manufacturer's instructions (it took me about 15-20 minutes).
- Once done, if you like this soft cervix, go ahead and enjoy! But, if you like it a little thicker, let it cool in the freezer for 3-4 hours. Before serving, let it sit outside for 5-10 minutes to soften, making it easier to scoop.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup strawberries, light and chopped.
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 cup granulated cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup half
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a large bowl mix strawberries, honey, sugar, and lemon juice in it. Let sit for 15-20 minutes, or until strawberries release their juice.
- Mash the mixture with a potato masher, fork, or pastry cutter until there are large pieces of strawberries. In strawberries, mix heavy cream, halves, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
- Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker, and follow your manufacturer's instructions (it takes me about 15-20 minutes to shave). You can serve it softly, or freeze it in an airtight container for 3-4 hours to make it a little thicker. For best results, let the ice cream sit at room temperature for about 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
Recipe Note:
If you are purifying strawberries, I would
recommend using only 2/3 - 1 cup of strawberries, as liquid consistency can
make it less creamy if you consume whole 1 1/2 cups.
Preparation time means making ice cream and
it does not include cold time.
What are the ingredients for strawberry ice cream?
- 1/2 cup strawberries, light and chopped.
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 cup granulated cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup half
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
How do you make homemade ice cream smooth and creamy?
Cream + milk + sugar
The fat in the cream and milk also
contributes to the smooth, pleasant consistency of your final product. You may
want to mix 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, and 3 cups of sugar in
a medium saucepan over medium heat so that the sugar dissolves completely.

Why is strawberry ice cream so good?
When it’s good it is just as good as ice
cream. This means that it has a strong strawberry flavor, is wonderfully creamy
and smooth, and avoids the disadvantages of classic strawberry ice cream with
too many frozen pieces of unsweetened strawberry.
What does strawberry ice cream taste like?
In tasting, the strawberry flavor ranged from
non-existent (mostly) to bubble gum sweet to full and bright (rarely). Dairy
backgrounds were sometimes round and creamy, often mostly icy probably due to
the presence of strawberry juice in the mixture.
Why is strawberry ice cream pink?
it was made by mixing either strawberry or
strawberry flavors with eggs, cream, vanilla, and sugar. Food coloring is often
used to give it a pink or light red color. Strawberry ice cream was introduced
during James Madison's second inauguration in 1813.
